"The albino" is a mysterious figure who began appearing to Agent Michael Watts shortly after the shuttle accident that left him permanently scarred and gave him his projecting ability. Later, Watts recalled what he now believes to be a repressed memory, in which the albino appeared outside the shuttle porthole as it was breaking up in the outer atmosphere.
Although initially the albino was only visible to Watts, he appeared to an entire team of Agents during a strange, otherworldly incident at a roadside motel outside the City. In another incident, he appeared to Agent Daniel McGee and took him on a journey through a strange, iron city. Although from McGee's subjective viewpoint the journey only took a few hours, when he returned he discovered that he'd been gone for weeks.
After the destruction of Orpheus Group, the albino hunted down and, in his own words, "devoured" the entities known collectively as the Board of Directors. Only the Man in the White Suit escaped, only to be devoured some time later in a confrontation with the albino in the underworld wasteland. The albino has claimed that he did this for the Orpheus Agents's own good, since the Board of Directors was "compromised." In fact, he maintains that everything he has done for or to the Agents to date has been to shepherd them to a point where they could stop the Second Deluge and thereby save the world.
As for his own allegiances, the albino has stated that he "enacts the will of the Lady of Fate." How this might be connected with the Lady of Fate to which the polio ward in St. Josephs' hospital is not yet clear.
