Rook

Rook, the tattooed man In life, Reyo Antonio Sanchez, aka "Rook," was an extremely effective freelance hitman. He was responsible for numerous bloody, high-profile hits, including the gunning down of notorious mafia leader Giancarlo Santino at the St. James Cathedral. Although known for being reckless and messy, he was persistently able to evade police capture until 1993, when he was ambushed and brought down in a hail of gunfire in the parking lot of a seedy motel just outside the City limits. He was nursed back to health and placed on death row in 1995.

Rook's death sentence was never carried out. He took part in a clandestine government experiment and died in the fire that subsequently raged through the D-Block of Conquin State Prison in 1998.

As a ghost, he served Bishop as an enforcer and spectral hitman, an object of rumor and fear among the City's spirit population. He took part in a coordinated assault on Orpheus Group, during which he ambushed Agents Watts and Lane, killing Watts. He was finally destroyed by Orpheus Agents working together with the last surviving Nextworld operatives in a pitched battle in the First Municipal Bank and Trust.
