Phillip Nash

CIA agent handler Phillip NashSpecial agent for the CIA, and Robert Herschler's "handler" during the latter's brief stint there. Although the two did not part on the best of terms, Nash contacted Herschler again several years later, asking him to provide the CIA with low-level human intelligence on Orpheus Group's missions, goals, and management structure. Nash claimed to be trying to protect Orpheus, and that his superiors simply wanted assurance that Orpheus did not pose any threat to national security. Herschler gave him some information in exchange for information regarding DEA agent Scott Archer, and again later in exchange for promises of immunity for himself and his colleagues. However, Nash continued to step up his requests.

While the Agents were on a mission in Bolivia, Nash severed his ties with Herschler, angry that Herschler went "over his head" and provided comprehensive information on Orpheus Group to Nash's boss. Since Herschler had no memory of doing this, the allegations were more than a little alarming; however, Herschler was never able to contact Nash for a clearer explanation.

Shortly after the destruction of Orpheus Group, Nash apparently killed himself with his own revolver; however, it soon came to light that he was murdered by Robert Herschler's doppelganger.
