NextWorld Enterprises

NextWorld EnterprisesOne of Orpheus Group's compeititors, perhaps the only one. Although there was once an informal agreement between the two companies to stay away from each others' "turf," NextWorld eventually became highly aggressive in its confrontations with Orpheus Group, even going so far as to attempt to kill or kidnap Orpheus Group employees. They are considered a threat, and any situation in which NextWorld is involved should be approached with extreme caution.

NextWorld does not employ projectors, evidently lacking the techniques and/or technology to train them. Instead, their operatives rely on esoteric technology to detect and influence ghosts. The extent of these technological resources is not known, but it is clear that they have access to devices far beyond what Orpheus Group is capable of developing — such as bullets that can affect and injure incorporeal spirits. NextWorld has also recently begun experimenting with the drug known as "pigment," using it to allow their operatives to project while in the field.

Recent investigations uncovered a shadow corporation called Terrel & Squib Pharmaceuticals that is apparently using NextWorld as a front operation, to hide its real activities. It is unclear to what extent NextWorld's employees are aware of T&S Pharmaceuticals or their company's relation to it.

After the last major clash with Orpheus Group, NextWorld went to ground, and have performed no major operations since. However, they were recently employed by former millionaire Stephen Vacek to carry out his revenge plot against Orpheus Group — a mission that did not go as expected.
