Eurydice Corporation

EurydiceOrpheus Group's predecessor company now defunct. Eurydice Corp provided "cryogenic preservation" services — for a steep fee, they would flash-freeze a client's body as close as possible to the moment of death and store it in cryogenic suspension until the day that sufficient technology existed to revive it.

Although they never did develop revival technology, Eurydice did stumble upon the phenomenon of projecting, and eventually developed a method for putting a person into a stable, recoverably flat-line state, thus creating the first sleepers. The Board of Directors reshaped the company into its current incarnation, renaming it Orpheus Group.

Eurydice's original clients are stlil in cryogenic preservation, stored in secret locations throughout the City. These clients were uniformly wealthy and farsighted, and most of them placed their financial estates into investment trust funds with Eurydice as the beneficiary. The proceeds from these funds were later transferred to Orpheus Group, and provide a significant amount of Orpheus Group's operating capital to this day. The Board of Directors considers the security and protection of these bodies one of their highest priorities.
