The ghost who calls himself "Bishop" was in life Uriah Bishop, a cult leader who in 1980 was convicted of 78 counts of first-degree murder after feeding poisoned cookies to his parishioners in a communion-like ceremony. Uriah Bishop languished on death row for nearly two decades. In 1998 he took part in a clandestine government experiment and died in the fire that subsequently raged through the D-Block of Conquin State Prison.
Since his death, Bishop has become the bogeyman of bogeymen among both ghosts and the ghost-savvy living in the City. His calling card a white chess piece, has been discovered at the scene of several grisly events, including a spectre ambush at Graceful Repose Residental Towers and the Elsevier High School massacre. He employs one of the most feared ghost-killers in the City as his enforcer. He directed the efforts of the Milton Brothers and may have masterminded the entire pigment trade. Evidence suggests that he has ties to both NextWorld and T&S Pharmaceuticals.
Orpheus Agents have encountered Bishop face-to-face only once. While infiltrating a worship service at the Church of the Children of the Embracing Mother, Bishop appeared as a "guest speaker" and delivered an inspirational sermon to the gathered cultists.
The full scope of Bishop's agenda is unknown, but it is clear that his plans are far-reaching and almost certainly inimical to the inhabitants of the City, both living and dead.
