Latest Session: Obherak's Fane

The End of Eternity The heroes next sailed their brass galley to the desert island of Khandelwal. There they transferred to a lighter, wooden craft capable of traversing the sand rivers that criss-cross that island, and set off for the Golden Bowl, where Obherak of the shaitan made his lair.

After enduring hours beneath the midday sun and fending off an attack of sand drakes, the heroes reached the crater and parleyed with a sphinx in order to gain audience with Obherak. They were escorted to an enormous underground chamber, in which a perfectly formed cube of elemental earth, 50 feet to an edge, floated and slowly rotated. Trapped within the cube was the serpentine form of a protean.

Obherak explained that the earth cube, due to its mystically irreducible essence, retained a connection to the universe outside Kakishon and could thus be used to open a conduit to escape. However, the cube was also the last lynch pin holding the dimension together, and opening a conduit would leave the cube vulnerable to the proteans. Only when the protean threat was completely eliminated would Obherak risk sending the heroes home. To test their mettle, Obherak released the protean imprisoned in the cube and observed as Ayham Rami, Sharif al'Farouk, Morgiana, and Ibn Abadar battled it.

Satisfied with the performance, Obherak observed that the protean stronghold on the Isles of Not was heavily defended. The shaitan had created a device called the "stability matrix" to aid them in a siege against the Isle of Not, but the ship transporting it had been attackd by the great dragon turtle Kurshok. If the heroes could recover the stability matrix and use it to destroy the proteans, then Obherak would send them home.
